JOB DEFINITION:
Under
the direction and supervision of the Supervisor of TEC Examiners, the employee in this position reviews tax returns for accuracy,
completeness and code those same returns for data processing. He/She is required to correspond routinely with
taxpayers to obtain missing vital information using established procedures and
guidelines.
Work is reviewed for
conformity to standards and for the efficient performance of assigned duties
and responsibilities.
REQUIRED
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
An Associate
degree in accounting or business administration and two (2) years experience
performing tax related or accounting work.
OR
A High School Diploma or
its equivalent with nine (9) or more credits in business administration or
accounting and four (4) years experience reviewing and editing data or tax
related documents.

JOB DEFINITION:
Works under the direction of the Chief/Assistant Chief of the
division. As the lead Tax
Coordinating Assistant, the incumbent renders administrative assistance to the
entire unit by reviewing incoming correspondence and action documents,
screening items to be handled personally and routing the remainder within the
section maintaing a suspense log. He/She
is also responsible for safeguarding the permanent files of the division as
well as assisting in
onitoring the daily activities of the Tax Coordinating Assistant.
REQUIRED
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
An Associate Degree in Business
Administration, Business Management or closely related field with two (2) years
experience as a Tax Coordinating Secretary, Assistant or Executive Secretary
and the ability to type accurately.
OR
A High School Diploma or
its equivalent with twelve (12) or more credits in Business Administration, the
ability to type accurately and a minimum of four (4) years secretarial
experience.

Position: TAX RETURN CONTROLLER (NEW)

JOB DEFINITION:
Under
the guidance and instruction of the Chief or Assistant Chief of Processing, the
employee maintains and prepares file room receptacles for storing annual tax
filings. He/She coorelates and
associates all payments, adjustments and miscellaneous documents with the
applicable return for a particular tax year.
The incumbent is also responsible for maintaing the documentation that
facilitates the logging in and out of returns and the requests for official
copies of tax filings.
Work
is viewed for comformity to instruction and for official performance of
assigned duties.
REQUIRED
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A
High School Diploma or its equivalent and training in boolleeping, familiarity
with computer software such as Microsoft Excel and Word, a valid drivers
license and a minimum of three (3) years experience in document management
gained in the private or public sector.

The
employee is this position serves as the lead worker among Assessment
Officers. With guidance received form
the Supervisor of Assessment Officers the incumbent applies payments or
adjustments to income tax accounts after returns have veen technically reviewed
by audit or have been previously designated for billing.
An
employee in this class calculates the applicable penalties and interest and
re-instates the notice process subsequent to audit filings. Work is performed in accordance with
established policies and procedures but an employee is expected to use
considerable judgment and initiative in carrying out his/her assignments.
REQUIRED
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachlors
Degree in Business Administration and one (1) year experience as an Assessment
Officer or related work including six (6) credits in Business Administration or
Accounting.
OR
Associate degree in Business Administration and three (3) years
experience as an Assessment Officer or related work including six (6) credits
in Business Administration or Accounting.
OR
High School Diploma or its
equivalent supplemented with six (6) credits in Business Administration as well
as five (5) years experience as an Assessment Officer or position relative to
tax administration.

employee routinely posts returns to the Bureau’s various tax modules. He/She ensures that all applicable schudles
are attached and entered as specified by form type. The incumbent is required to troubleshoot
minor problems and perform adjustments according to predefined procedures.
Work
is reviewed for adherence to standard operating procedures. /while the employee is expected to perform
with a considerable degree of independence, he/she must excerise initiative in
carrying out his/her assignments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
EXPERIENCE:
An
Associate degree in computer technology,
OR
A High
School Diploma or GED with 6 credits in Business Administration or related
field and 2 years data entry experience.
